OliveUs Apparel was born in a hospital room — and out of a very real problem.

As a nurse practitioner working long shifts, founder Kathryn Dickson developed a rash on her neck from the chemical sprays used to disinfect her stethoscope. She realized quickly that she wasn't alone. Stethoscopes worn around the neck are a strangulation hazard in unpredictable patient situations, a contamination risk (100% of tested stethoscopes carry staph bacteria), and a daily source of discomfort for the millions of healthcare professionals who wear them.

So Kathryn did what she'd always done — she designed her own solution. She created a patented stethoscope holder built directly into the waistband of scrubs, keeping the scope secure, accessible, and safely off the neck. No add-ons, no clips, no workarounds. Just smarter scrubs.

Kathryn has been a nurse since she was a student sewing her own clothes in high school, dreaming of the day she could design her own scrubs. After earning her DNP and practicing as an emergency and family nurse practitioner, she founded OliveUs to bring the healthcare community the innovation, safety, and comfort they deserve.
